CURRENT PROJECT:
The African Film and Media Arts Collective was born out Julie Mehretu’s 20th BMW Art Car project. It is an effort that is experimenting with what is possible when cinema and fine arts join forces. Stay tuned for updates as we convene artistic residencies across Lagos, Dakar, Tangier, Nairobi, and Cape Town with leading Pan-African and international artists and produce a slate of six films. The finished films will exhibit at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in South Africa curated by Koyo Kouoh towards the end of 2026.
